You have the whole float suite to yourself, and you can get in or out at any time. You’re always in control of your environment, and people with extreme claustrophobia have reported having no problems with their time floating. Being in the cabins is more like floating in outer space than being shut in a box. With our float cabins, you can even leave the lid open at any angle so you never feel shut in!
Hygiene is our first priority and that is why we decided to invest in float cabins with an external water reservoir tank that is totally emptied from the salt water between each guest, hosed down and wiped clean! During this process every last drop of salty water is pumped through our 4 step water cleaning system, including Ozone, Hydrogen Peroxide, Sand Filter, and Cartridge Filter. We also use one more step periodically, using active carbon/charcoal for pristine water clarity.
Don’t drink coffee for several hours beforehand (it can make your system jittery). Also, don’t shave or wax right before since the salt water can irritate your skin, like when you are at the beach. Eating a light meal about an hour to 90 minutes ahead of time stops your stomach from sounding like an angry monster while you float. Other than that, there’s no specific preparation needed.
Like a pickle covered in maple syrup, pregnant women love floating! There is even a special position you can float in that relieves all of the weight of the baby off of the mother’s body. If you are in your third trimester, or have any concerns, please consult with your physician before coming in.
If you can’t wash or get your head wet, you should bring a waterproof (e.g. silicone) swim cap, although be aware that no swim cap is perfect, and leaking is common around the ears and jaw!
While there is no guarantee that the salt won’t strip some color from your hair, we recommend that you check if the water running through your hair in the shower at home is fully clear. If there is still some color coming out you should wait a couple of more days/showers
